OCT Scans
A major advance in looking after your eyes
To help you enjoy better eyecare, we’ve invested in revolutionary new equipment that can significantly improve the detection of common eye conditions.
This cutting edge technology can scan your eyes for:
• Age related macular degeneration (AMD)
• Glaucoma
• Diabetic retinopathy
All this can be checked during your regular eye examination, using a 3D Optical Coherence Tomography System (3D OCT).
Similar to ultrasound, OCT uses light instead of sound to reveal the many layers that make up the back of the eye.
Our device also captures a high resolution digital photograph of the inner surface at the same time.
The procedure is fast, non-invasive and painless. Never before has it been so easy to locate and identify eye conditions that affect the structures of the eye.
They can discuss the findings with you and, if necessary, keep you under review or refer you for treatment.
But for the vast majority of patients, OCT provides reassurance that the deeper layers of the eye are healthy.
